The media are calling them "sea plankton" or butterflies... I have not seen them along the coast ever so this has me baffled.
This is one up close they are teeny (smaller than the end of a toothpick).
This is a jelly fish wrapped up in all the prickly butterfly drama...
Note it is bad beach etiquette to dig holes and leave them. The turtles do NOT like that, so leave it to my family to cover the holes, I am so proud, this is them covering a ginormous hole!
These next two pictures are all the little sea creatures just underwater - that is how clear our water is. I am looking down into the water.
Then off to dinner. I took this next picture while we were sitting at our table waiting for food to come.
I gave them the signal to come in and they came, sand and all : )
* yes, her shirt is inside out...
This is one of the stray "back porch" kitties that the rescue group Feline Friends of Destin takes care of. She is just waking up from a nap and she just hangs out with everyone waiting to go inside and eat dinner. Note the kitty in the back is a bit more feral - not quite as social, but still fat, happy and spayed or neutered... I love this town ; )
At the end of this day, I want everyone to note that I still have not seen any booms or any oil (or smelled any oil) - it is business as usual right now and that is beautiful!!!
If I ever don't know what something is I just call it a wonton.
ReplyDeleteThat's hysterical! Ok we will call them plankton wontons - kinda rhymes...
ReplyDeleteI love that you read my posts - because I was pretty confident I was talking to myself... so is Bill : )
